Privacy

This site is deliberately plain about data. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, carries no advertising, and loads no third-party tracking scripts. Nothing here builds a profile of you.

The only information Melissa receives is what you choose to send her.

What the site does not collect

• No cookies of any kind, and no consent banner, because there is nothing to consent to.
• No analytics — not Google Analytics, not a "privacy-friendly" alternative, none at all. Visits are not counted or profiled.
• No advertising or marketing pixels, and no social media trackers.
• No device fingerprinting.
• No mailing list. Nothing you send is added to one, and nothing is sold or shared for marketing.

Pages embed a small number of external items — YouTube videos, and links to Spotify, Apple Music and IMDb. Those services apply their own privacy policies if you play or follow them; nothing is sent to them until you do.

The enquiry form

When you submit the enquiry form, the details you typed are emailed to Melissa so she can reply. The message is delivered by Resend, an email service acting on her behalf. The email includes the time it was sent and your browser's user-agent string, which help sort genuine enquiries from automated spam.

The enquiry lives in Melissa's mailbox like any other email. It is used to answer you and to arrange work, and for nothing else.

The chat panel

If a chat button appears at the corner of the page, it is Melissa's own — self-hosted, not a chat product from another company. Your browser talks to her relay and to no one else; there is no third-party chat provider in the middle, and no chat vendor receives your messages.

What the chat stores:

• the messages you type;
• which page you started the chat from — the page address only, never the search terms or link that brought you there;
• your name and email, only if you choose to leave them when prompted;
• the times messages were sent.

What it does not store: your IP address, cookies, a device fingerprint, or any advertising or analytics identifier. Your chat is held in your browser tab for the length of your visit and is gone when you close the tab.

If nobody is able to reply for a while, the panel offers to take your name and email instead. That hands off to the same enquiry route described above, so Melissa can come back to you by email.

Where the information is held

Enquiry emails are held in Melissa's mailbox. Chat messages are held in a database on a server she controls, hosted in Europe, and are not shared with any third party. The site itself is served as static files by Vercel, which keeps short-lived operational server logs, as any web host does.

How long chat messages are kept

One year after the last activity on your record, your name and contact details are anonymised automatically. They are overwritten and cannot be read afterwards, by anyone, including Melissa.

The messages themselves are kept. Melissa needs the record of what was discussed — a date quoted, a piece agreed — long after your name has stopped mattering. So please bear in mind: if you type your phone number or your name into a message, that text stays, even after the details you gave separately have been anonymised. If you would rather that did not happen, use the enquiry form, or ask her to remove a message and she will.

The year runs from the last time anything happened on that record, not from when it started. If you come back and carry on the conversation, the clock restarts. If you never come back, it runs out a year later and the anonymising happens on its own — nobody has to remember to do it.

Enquiry emails sit in Melissa's mailbox and are kept as ordinary business correspondence.

Your choices

You can ask what Melissa holds about you, ask for a copy, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Use the enquiry form and say what you would like — there is no special process, and asking costs you nothing.

If you would rather not use the chat, the enquiry form does the same job. If you would rather not use either, no part of this site requires you to submit anything at all.

If this page changes, the change will apply from the date it is published.
